Where are you based?

We are a small business based in Sydney and we use Australian owned suppliers. See our ‘about us’ page for more information about our business.

 

Are your products vegan and cruetly free?

Yes! We also recycle and/or use recyclable packaging.

 

What type of wax, wicks and fragrance oils do you use?

For our candle jars and wax melts we use soy wax. For our pillar candles we use a soy wax blend. Soy wax is naturally derived from soya beans. Soy wax is sustainable, vegan and gives a beautiful slow and clean burn. We use natural cotton wicks and premium fragrance oils from Australian suppliers. 

 

Are fragrance oils safe?

Fragrance oils are composed of naturally derived and synthetic ingredients. All of the fragrance oils we use have been approved by the relevant governing bodies and are safe. They are not to be ingested so please keep our products away from pets and children. Some people do have a sensitivity to fragrances that cause hayfever like symptoms and headaches. 

 

Why don't you use essential oils?

Essential oils can actually become dangerous when burned! However, they can be infused in fragrance oils in small amounts.

 

Can I recycle the packaging and candle jars?

We reuse packaging that comes from our suppliers. Sometimes that includes plastic such as bubble wrap. Instead of throwing this in the bin we reuse it in our packaging. For plastics included in your delivery you can recycle them through the Red Cycle program at your local Coles and Woolworths. The packaging we purchase is recyclable in your normal yellow bin such as the cardboard and tissue paper. The packing peanuts are made from corn starch which can be composted and are water soluble. We include calico bags for the body candles which you can reuse or even compost as they are made of natural cotton.

Our candle jars are made out of glass. When there is 1/4 inch wax remaining in the bottom discontinue use of the candle. Soy wax is soluble so you can remove it using warm soapy water and then reuse your jar in your home 

 

I burned my candle and it has reset bumpy / is now discoloured?

This is completely normal for normal for soy wax as it is a natural product! You can avoid your candle getting discoloured if you keep it out of direct sunlight. Fragrance oils that contain vanillin can turn the wax a slight yellow colour, this is normal.

How do I care for my candle?

Dont worry, each product comes with its own safety and care instructions!

Container candles:

Soy wax has a memory so especially on the first burn please allow the melt pool to reach the edge of the jar to avoid tunnelling
Trim your wick 5mm before each burn as this helps to ensure an even and safe burn
Extinguish your candle using a wax dipper or candle snuffer (do not use the lid)
Store your candle away from direct light and heat to prevent damage to the candle

    Pillar candles:

    Candle will drip so burn in a non porous heat resistant container to catch wax
    Ensure wick is trimmed to 5mm before each burn
    Keep away from children, pets, flammable objects and draughts
    Do not burn for more than 4 hours
    Discontinue use when 10mm of wax remains
    Keep upright away from direct sunlight as it may discolour / shape will warp
    Each candle is lovingly handcrafted using natural soy wax so there may be some minor imperfections and differences in colour

       

      Why is there soot in my candle jar?

      Soot can gather in your jar if you have allowed the flame to become too large by; not trimming wick to 5mm before each burn and burning longer than 3-4 hours. To remove the soot use a dry paper towel and wait until flame is out and candle has cooled. 

       

      Will the scent fill the room?

      Our current range of candles and scent diffusers are suitable for small to medium rooms due to their size. Some scents are naturally stronger than others.

      What happens if my package arrives damaged?

      Please contact us to address this issue. Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for poor handling by the courier.
